1. DefinitionAnalytical exposition text is a text that explains a phenomenon or problem comprehensively by using arguments that support the idea of the text. The main function of analytical exposition text is to tell and convince the reader that the issues raised are important.
2. Generic structure
- Thesis (introduction): introduces the topic and indicates the author's opinion regarding the topic.
- Series of arguments (body text): describes the arguments that support the author's opinion.
- Reiteration (conclusion): conveying the author's opinion again.
3. Purpose
An analytical exposition is a type of text in which the purpose is to persuade the audience by making an argument.
4. Language features
Elements of language analytical exposition
- Written using the Simple Presents Tense, because the contents contain a general opinion tand facts.
- Marked by the presence of thinking verbs, namely words that state or express feelings/ideas of the writer.
